I had to check out this blog because it has the same title as mine. Wasnt I surprised to find out that the author is a teacher as well? Sounds like you just got your first teaching gig...congrats! I love teaching! I couldnt imagine doint anything else! Well, let's be honest, some days I imagine doing lots of thing, but anyhow...I dont know if you want a bit of advice from a stranger, but while I'm hear I'm going to pass on the best piece of advice that was given to me during my first year of teaching..."SAY NO TO EVERYTHING". All the extra stuff that you will be asked to do...just graciously say no and give yourself one year to focus on your kids, your room and your teaching. Trust me in saying that you will never regret it. You will never have a first year or first class again, enjoy every moment!
And just to let you know...I dont drink coffee, so it is possible! :)
Thank you for your kind words! I have been told the first year is basically a matter of survival. I'm managing well, for now. And your lack of coffee gives me hope, much like the President of Awesome.
I think some strong qualifications are that he jumps out of a burning helicopter and has nunchuck skills. Besides, I don't see how McCain can compete with a title like "President of Awesome."
Brooke!! Of course I remember! I was so excited to see your comment. How are you? I may be back at MG this spring with Ms. J (a couple teachers are going on maternity leave and want me to sub for them). How cute would that be? It was so nice to hear from you!

ReplyDeleteThat is easy. Who would you rather have as president?
ReplyDeleteThe most qualified and that is easy McCain by a long shot.
OB is all talk and no qualifications.
